Single All the Way (2021)
Peter brings his best friend home for Christmas as his pretend boyfriend — and his whole family starts matchmaking.
Dreading another Christmas as the family's single one, Peter talks his best friend and roommate Nick into coming home and posing as his boyfriend. The plan wobbles when Peter's mother sets him up with her trainer James — while the rest of the family quietly roots for the 'couple' they already adore.
What made Single All the Way a landmark is how ordinary it insists on being: the first gay Christmas rom-com from a major streamer uses every beloved beat of the form — the small-town return, the meddling mother, the pageant (Jennifer Coolidge, gloriously, directs it) — and simply lets its couple belong inside them. Michael Urie and Philemon Chambers play best friends with the ease the story needs, and Kathy Najimy's matchmaking mom is a gift. Cozy, funny, and quietly historic.
