On Christmas Eve, a robber dressed as Santa breaks into Craig and Day-Day's apartment and takes their presents and the rent money. Facing eviction by nightfall, the cousins take jobs as strip-mall security guards — where family, old flames, and half the neighborhood turn one shift into a full holiday circus.

The Friday films were built on Ice Cube's ear for how his neighborhood actually talks, and this third entry wraps that voice in tinsel: the rent is due, the landlady is threatening, and Christmas is the deadline. John Witherspoon and Don "D.C." Curry spar as the fathers, Anna Maria Horsford holds the family line, and a young Katt Williams steals every scene he enters as Money Mike. It is an R-rated Christmas comedy with a warm center — the holiday as one more thing this family gets through together.
