Edward Scissorhands (1990)
An unfinished artificial man, a snowy suburb, and the inventor who died too soon.
Peg Boggs finds Edward alone in a mansion and brings him home, where his scissor hands make him a hedge-sculpting sensation — and then a threat, in the suburb's eyes. The ice-dance scene, where Edward carves an angel and Kim dances in the falling shavings, is the Christmas image of Burton's whole career.
