Miss Me This Christmas

An estranged wife calls off her Christmas Day. Starring Erica Ash, and Eva Marcille.

The festive spirit of Christmas in the air, “Miss Me This Christmas” is an enchanting holiday romance that unwraps the complex layers of love, loyalty, and the gift of second chances. Directed by Kenny Young, with a screenplay penned by Yvette Foy, the film delves into the story of Regina Young, portrayed by Erica Ash, who is at the crossroads of her life, facing the finalization of her divorce from her once-beloved husband, Franklin Young, played by Redaric Williams.

The tale is set against the magical backdrop of the opulent Chesterton Hotel, where Regina and Franklin’s love once blossomed and where they exchanged their vows. As Christmas Day looms, marking the end date of their union, Regina finds herself drawn back to this place of former happiness and memories.

The narrative takes an unexpected twist when Regina encounters an eccentric and charismatic millionaire, Ulysses Danbert, brought to life by Allen Maldonado. His unexpected attention and affection toward Regina spark a flurry of emotions, compelling her to confront the realities of the life she’s leaving behind and the uncertain future she’s stepping into.

With a supporting cast that includes the talents of Eva Marcille as Trish McDonald, Regina’s friend who provides comic relief and wisdom, and Nathan Davis Jr. as Thomas Wallace, the vibrant hotel staff member whose youthful energy brings a fresh perspective, the film is a blend of heartfelt and humorous moments. Mykel Shannon Jenkins, Christiana Leucas, Richard Gant, and Brely Evans contribute to the multi-layered narrative with their own subplots and relationships, creating a rich tapestry of interconnected lives.

As the film unfolds, Regina is tugged in different directions by her soon-to-be ex-husband Franklin, her new admirer, and her own confused heart. With the Chesterton Hotel’s glittering Christmas decor as a backdrop, and a soulful soundtrack scored by Sean Murray, the movie navigates the themes of love lost and found, the true meaning of commitment, and the power of holiday miracles.

Behind the scenes, the film’s visual charm is crafted by the cinematography of Thomas L. Callaway, the elegant production design by Fernando Valdes, and the festive costume design by Tomika Smalls, all of which come together to create a world that’s as inviting as it is picturesque. The makeup department, led by Maria Coca and Lauren Guzman, ensures that each character looks their holiday best, reflecting the inner transformations they undergo.

From the art department helmed by Alyse Castillo and Jeffrey Chaney to the precise sound mixing by Mey Chan and Ryan Villarreal, every technical aspect of the film serves to heighten the emotional stakes and the celebratory atmosphere. And as the characters weave through their Christmas Eve dilemmas, the transportation coordinated by Glen Marzillo ensures that no one misses their moment under the mistletoe.

“Miss Me This Christmas” takes viewers on a heartwarming journey of rediscovery and the power of love during the holiday season. Will Regina follow through with the divorce, or will the magic of Christmas and a chance encounter change her heart and future? The film invites audiences to find out, reminding them that sometimes the greatest gift is the one you didn’t know you needed.
