A pastor turns to his formerly successful gospel group to reunite and save his church, but old conflicts threaten their Christmas reunion performance. Starring Serayah, Lisa Arrindell, Loren Lott, Durrell ‘Tank’ Babbs, DeGayle, Thom Scott II, and Roy ‘King Roy’ Williams Jr.

“Favorite Son Christmas” centers around the Graceway Church, a place of worship facing financial ruin. Pastor Blaine, played by Durrell ‘Tank’ Babbs, steps in as the new leader, hoping to restore its fortunes. With the church’s future hanging by a thread, the vibrant First Lady Rita, portrayed by Lisa Arrindell, proposes an ingenious plan—a reunion of the once-celebrated gospel group “SO GIFTED.” The event is intended to be the highlight of the upcoming Jubilee, aimed at generating much-needed ticket sales.

The plot thickens as the members of “SO GIFTED” must confront the specters of their shared history. The movie weaves a tale of redemption and reconciliation, exploring whether the estranged brothers and their partners can set aside longstanding disputes. The key question is whether they can find harmony, not just musically but in their relationships, to pull off a reunion that could save Graceway Church.

Will the Christmas spirit guide them to a successful concert and a renewed sense of family and faith? Or will unresolved conflicts from Christmases past threaten to silence their voices and the future of the church? “Favorite Son Christmas” promises a story filled with drama, music, and the hope of holiday miracles.

The cast includes Serayah as Dawn, Loren Lott as Amber, Durrell ‘Tank’ Babbs as Blaine, and Lisa Arrindell as Lady Rita. The film is directed by Robin Givens, with writing credits going to Patricia Cuffie-Jones and Tiffany L. Warren. As the community anticipates the film’s release on December 14, 2023, audiences are eager to see if the characters can overcome their differences for a cause greater than themselves.
